Critic Review: "This is a planet you want to live on. The wine's rich raspberry-jam and lilac aromas make a perfect foil for a meaty note similar to seared steak. Blueberry and candied-rose-petal flavors are joined by an interesting wood note that may conjure up childhood memories of building toy rafts with popsicle sticks." - Wine Enthusiast
Wine Folly: Pg. 150-151-- Wine Folly describes Pinot Noir as having low tannins and high acidity. When tasting this wine, I did notice how the tannins were less apparent in this wine, which I liked. It's also stated how Pinot Noir has red fruit and spice flavors/aromas such as cranberry, clove, or cherry. I definitely picked up on cherry and cranberry but also noticed a more peppery flavor. The text states how Oregon offers more tart fruit flavors in their Pinot Noirs, which I could definitely tell.
My Review: When sniffing this wine, I first noticed how it had a little bit of earthiness and dirt aromas. I also smelled nail polish a little bit! However, I mainly smelled cranberry and candied cherry. As for tasting, I got notes of pepper and cherry as the highest flavors. It was also not very tannic and was pretty smooth. After a few more sips, I also got a bit of lemon. I surprisingly liked this wine and think it is a great choice for a red. I would definitely try it again!
I did not drink this with a meal.
